The History of the Ship, Richard Woodman, 1997.

The Motor Boat Manual, Temple Press Ltd. This practical book was published every few years from 1907 until the 1960s. Comparing editions shows much of the evolution of the motor boat. I have four editions: 5th (1912), 7th (about 1918), 9th (1929) and the 15th (1954).
